My goal was to lose body fat so I decided to join a gym. The idea was to do some weight training and run on the treadmill while eating 6 small meals a day, but that didn’t work for me. I found I was gaining weight and also getting a bigger tummy.

I read about Body Buzz in the Te Awamutu Courier so I thought I would give that a go instead. I knew I was overweight but I didn’t realise I was 101 kg until I stepped onto the scales during my free consultation. My waist measurement of 105 cm was fast catching up to my chest measurement. The worst thing was finding out that 30% of my weight was body fat. In other words 31 kilos of me was fat!

Once I had watched the DVDs and started training I found it was quite easy to lose weight. After 6 months I was 79 kg. My body fat percentage had dropped to a healthy 13% and I had lost 17cm off my waist. Sleeping improved within the first week of training at Body Buzz. I remember waking up feeling refreshed like I had actually had enough sleep for a change. I also had more energy.
